Canada Skilled Immigration
Canada is celebrated for its openness to immigration, exceptional quality of life, and growing economy. The country relies heavily on the Express Entry system to select skilled migrants. To ensure that people coming to live add value to the country’s progress. Express Entry is an online application management system that streamlines and speeds up the processing of permanent residency applications for skilled workers. The stream is designed for individuals with expertise in certain fields. The system uses a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), a points-based method to rank candidates in the pool. The highest-ranking candidates are regularly invited to apply for permanent residency through Invitation to Apply (ITA) draws, which can be specific to certain categories or occupations.
Skilled Immigration Categories
Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
While not a federal program, many FSWP streams are aligned with Express Entry. A federal nomination secures candidates an additional 600 points on their CRS score, virtually guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply for PR and eligibility to enter express entry pool.
Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
It is for skilled workers who have recent Canadian work experience. This is a popular route for international students and temporary foreign workers already present in Canada.
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
PNP is designed for skilled workers with foreign work experience who have the skills, education, and language ability to succeed economically in Canada. Candidates must score at least 67 points on a 100-point selection grid to be eligible to enter the provincial nominee pool.
